Brickyard Quarry

urban design

Residential development of 165 dwellings with allotments, orchard and supporting open space. 

The site is one of several allocated in the local plan and taken through a process involving production of a development brief in collaboration with the local authority. The sloping former quarry also lies under a 400kV overhead power line. The design task thus involved applying National Grid guidelines as well as integrating higher levels of parking required due to reactions against other recent local schemes.
